NAME OF PRODUCT:
SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops
DESCRIPTION:
SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops is a sterile solution containing polyethylene glycol 400, propylene glycol, hydroxypropyl guar, sorbitol, aminomethyl propanol, boric acid, potassium chloride and sodium chloride.
CLINICAL BENEFITS:
When used as directed, SYSTANE ULTRA is a lubricating eye drop:
Protects the surface of the eye.
When used according to the instructions, it protects the surface of the eye.
Provides temporary relief from dry eyes during contact lens wear (used before and after contact lens wear).
Moisturises contact lenses, reduces discomfort during contact lens wear and helps to remove irritating and/or uncomfortable deposits.
Moisturises/re-wets contact lenses.
APPLICATION (Indications):
SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops are intended for the temporary relief of burning sensation and irritation caused by dry eye.
SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops can also be used to moisten daily disposable, extended wear and disposable silicone hydrogel and soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses. SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops moisturise contact lenses, reduce discomfort during contact lens wear and help to remove irritating and/or uncomfortable deposits.
TARGET USERS
SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops are recommended for those who need temporary relief from burning sensation and irritation caused by dry eyes.
SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops are also recommended for those who wear soft (hydrophilic) and silicone hydrogel contact lenses, including day wear, extended wear and disposable lenses.
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS:
Based on all the evidence from clinical studies, published clinical literature and market experience (post-marketing surveillance), SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops are intended to temporarily relieve the burning sensation and irritation caused by dry eye and can be used to moisten day, extended wear and disposable silicone hydrogel and soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses during contact lens wear.
CONTRAINDICATIONS (When not to use):
The use of SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops is contraindicated in case of allergy to any of the ingredients of SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops.
USE:
To open, grasp the bottle just below the cap and twist the cap.
BEFORE FIRST USE, hold the bottle at an angle of approximately 90 degrees and drop one drop of product. Shake the bottle upside down to remove any remaining product.
SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops can be used as needed throughout the day.
While wearing contact lenses, if you experience mild irritation, discomfort or blurred vision, drop 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye and blink twice or three times. Can also be used before and after wearing contact lenses.
After use, before closing the cap of the bottle, shake the bottle upside down to remove any residual product left on the dropper.
Close the bottle.
WARNINGS:
It is important to follow the instructions of your eye care professional and the instructions in the accompanying literature for proper use of the product. If you experience persistent discomfort in your eyes or severe watering, blurred vision or redness of the eyes, stop using SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops and consult an eye care professional as the problem may worsen.
Temporary blurred vision and other visual disturbances may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you develop blurred vision after use, wait for your vision to clear before driving or operating machinery.
PRECAUTIONS:
For ophthalmic use only.
NOTE: Do not use if the tamper-evident cap is damaged or missing.
Do not use if the packaging or the bottle (sterile packaging) is damaged.
To avoid contamination, never touch the dropper of the bottle to any surface.
If swallowed, seek medical advice.
If the solution changes colour or becomes cloudy, do not use.
Screw the cap back on after use.
Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Use within the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
The product contains boric acid at safe levels when used as directed.
After opening the bottle, discard the remaining solution according to the instructions below:
for 3 ml containers, pour out the remaining solution 30 days after opening.
for the 10 ml container, pour out the remaining solution three months after opening.
Store at a maximum of 30°C.
Keep out of the reach of children.
NOT EXPECTED (Possible problems and what to do):
If you experience prolonged discomfort in the eyes or severe watering, blurred vision or redness of the eyes, stop using SYSTANE ULTRA Lubricating Eye Drops and consult an eye care professional as the problem may worsen.
