Sunglasses that never go out of style, part 1
Fashion is a constantly changing thing!
Fashion is a constantly changing thing influenced by many factors: the year we're in, the season, the weather, and especially the designers of the biggest fashion houses. And that's okay because an entire industry has built up around trends, and many have become lovers of fashion.
These are the ones who observe the continuous evolution of fashion and season after season acquire the trendiest pieces, whether it's clothes, shoes, bags, or sunglasses. But even the most committed fans of fashion know that some things don't change: these are the classics that are simply unaffected by what the fashion houses parade on the runways because they will always be popular.
This is no different when it comes to sunglasses, so we've gathered some models that were already hits 10-20-30 years ago and are still among the most sought-after pieces in 2022.
Ray-Ban Aviator
We couldn't start the list with anything else but the Ray-Ban capital classic, the Aviator. The history of Aviator, or pilot sunglasses, goes back a long way. In 1936, the Bausch & Lomb optical company developed the Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses at the request of the pilots of the U.S. military.
The unique, drop-shaped design then lived up to expectations in such a way that it began to spread rapidly regardless of the original brand. Numerous celebrities opted for sunglasses of this style, so it was almost inevitable that diopter versions would also appear in Aviator frames. By the 70s and 80s, this style was leading the trends, which was awarded with a Fashion Awards prize in 1987.
Ray-Ban Wayfarer
Of course, we can't leave out the Ray-Ban's other big hit, the Wayfarer, from the list either. The model that quickly became iconic was created in 1952 and almost immediately became the favorite of Hollywood stars like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Nicholson, or James Dean.
Its popularity is due to its simple yet great design, as its not too angular and not too round shape looks good on most face shapes. It's a true unisex piece: both men and women prefer it, and its versatility is also considerable. A Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses can be worn in everyday life and at any elegant event.
Michael Kors Cortina
The oversized, slightly cat-eye sunglasses, such as the Michael Kors Cortina, are also models that won't go out of fashion anytime soon. Due to its size, it effectively covers the areas to be protected, including the sensitive skin around the eyes, which is why ladies particularly like it.
Such a larger-sized sunglasses also elevate basic outfits superbly and are beneficial on a tired morning. The cat-eye design adds excitement and playfulness to the appearance, making it suitable for special occasions as well.
All of the above-mentioned pieces are available in the eOpticians range.
